One of the most common mistakes in plastering is using an interior product on an exterior wall, or vice versa. Understanding the difference is crucial.
Interior Plasters
Interior gypsum plasters like our PlasterStar Interior are designed for controlled environments. They:
- Set faster (90–120 minutes)
- Produce an ultra-smooth finish
- Are not designed for moisture exposure
- Provide excellent compressive strength
Exterior Plasters
Exterior plasters like our DuraPlast Exterior are engineered to handle the elements:
- Modified to resist UV radiation
- Flexible formula resists thermal cracking
- Breathable — allows walls to dry out naturally
- Suitable for direct rain exposure when painted
When to Use Each:
Always use exterior plaster for outside walls, boundary walls, and any surface that may get wet. Use interior plaster for internal walls, ceilings (with our CeilPerfect), and any dry interior space.
